What is Tea
A leaf was given by a tree.
If it was not tea, there was no tea leaf,
It was used as the purpose of medicine since 2737 BC, and then for cooking.
In Tang Dynasty 618-907,
The name of tea was given,
Tea became the loyal drink for the highest, the monk, emperor, the official, the scholar, and then to everyone else in daily life,
And today, 21st Century, tea is the king of beverage.
Beyond being a beverage,
The life of tea is the life of life,
The way of tea is the way of living, the art of living.
In China, Tea is one of the most principal ritual in daily life, as important as salt and rice. There is an old saying, ” a man can live without meal but can not live without tea.”
Tea has been practiced for the purpose of a custom, hospitality, etiquette, self-cultivation, discipline, meditation, art form, and spiritual practice. The essence of the Way of Tea is the Unity of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.
From the non-existence of tea, time takes a tree to be a tea tree; a leaf from a tea tree be a tea leaf; a taste from a tea leaf be tea.
Without tea, there is no tea leaf
As if without life, there is no man.
Man and tea leaf are the non-being of life and tea.
So that tea leaf is us to reveal who we are, to live as who we are, so that we can say, yes, indeed, we are living.
And tea is the container that holds us, others, and beyond everything else we see and we know. Just like how life does.
You and me, as a tea leaf, it is tiny and so easy to be ignored, and yet it is delicate, and so easy to be damaged. But because of the value of tea leaf and each of them has to count on it to make the taste of tea. One tea leaf can not make a pot of tea, but one lb of tea leaves can definitely make pot of tea. We can not overlook any pieces because each of them represents each of us. That says, to make taste of life, we need others to compose as an unity to make it happen. So that, without guest there is no host, and where Tea Ceremony comes from?
You and me, like a tea leaf, small and delicate, may lost in any process of making, but as soon as we have our commitment of giving our taste, we can be very strong, we can be plucked from any situations, can be dry out from the sun, can be shaped from the heat, can be rolled by the speed, can be roasted by fire, can be steamed by temperature, can be sorted by selections, can be packed by box, can be transported to anywhere, can be steeped from the boiling, can be served on the table, can be tasted by hearts, and can be inspired by spirits……
Every step is necessary in order to become Tea and have the taste of tea.
As a living being, any situation we go through is necessary in order to become who we are and to taste the life itself.
We need to be strong like tea, in trust, there is no fear; in trust, we go forward, it doesn’t matter if our experience is fired, steamed, roasted, or boiled, our goal is to be here serve our taste to other beings for the existence of who we are. And that is the way we serve our existence and spirits.
The evidence and approval of our taste at last says, I am a tea leaf, I am bigger than any eyes can see, I am stronger than any minds can image, I am more flavorful than any tongues can taste, and I am loving just like How a beloved loves a lover, and yet, I am the spirit!

The Way of Tea is the Way of Life, The Way of Life is the practice of love making with tea.
In Neoillusion Teaism, Tea is the nothingness that contains everything in our life. Yet, Nothingness contains the taste of all teas which are the taste of of our lives, our doing, our existence.
